You should be well prepared!
Importers and exporters are subject to a retrospective customs audit, which is usually ordered on a risk-oriented basis. The audit content and intervals depend on various factors.
Since the introduction of IT customs systems, the customs administration has been able to conduct targeted audits due to comprehensive company transparency (“transparent party”).
Company audits require a great deal of time and technical support. Inadequate preparation and/or incorrect behavior during the audit can have negative consequences. Therefore, careful preparation is recommended.
